DESCRIPTION

The Hay Experts Raspberry Leaf is a natural and healthy forage food for most small animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, degu, hamsters and more.

The Hay Experts Raspberry leaves are grown organically without the use of chemicals, rapid dried dried to lock in nutrients and aroma, then hand sorted for optimal quality. Then packed in a generous 125g pack for optimal value too!

With minimal processing and maximum focus on product quality, The Hay Experts Raspberry Leaves are not highly chopped, ensuring the bag contains larger leaf pieces and whole leaves for greater enjoyment.

Raspberry Leaf can be fed as a single forage, within a mix of other leaves and flowers, or added to hay for environmental enrichment and forging fun. It can also be added to toys (such as willow balls or tunnels) to increase interaction, challenge, and activity.

Raspberry Leaf is high in fibre, rich in vitamins (especially A, C and E), minerals, and nutrients too. It is reputed to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and help support digestion and metabolism.

Raspberry is really enjoyed by rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and other small animals. It is just perfect for feeding as part of a natural diet, as a treat, or as extra tastiness to hay for added foraging fun!

FAQs

Can rabbits eat Raspberry Leaf - and is it safe to feed to guinea pigs & others too?

Raspberry leaves contain vitamins C and E, B group vitamins, as well as the minerals calcium, magnesium, and zinc. The leaves are also a source of protective plant compounds such as bioflavonoids and tannins. Plus they are high in fibre too.

The benefits of feeding Raspberry leaves to rabbits, guinea pigs and others include digestive support from the high fibre, supporting general health and wellbeing, and improving environmental enrichment from the natural behaviour of foraging.

Raspberry Leaf is also reputed to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and help support digestion and metabolism.

Raspberry Leaf is ideal for rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, degu, hamsters, & other small animals, as well as tortoises & other herbivorous reptiles.

How often can I feed raspberry leaves to my rabbit, guinea pig or other small animal?

Whilst there is no formally established minimum or maximum amount to feed, it is sensible to feed in small amounts a few times a week as part of a varied diet to ensure a balanced intake of nutrients.

With rabbits and most other small animals, feeding a variety of forage alongside a variety of hays ensures a good balance of taste, texture, enjoyment, and nutritional intake.

Feeding a variety of natural forage also mimics how these animals would feed naturally in the wild, just as Mother Nature intended.

How should I feed Raspberry Leaves to my rabbit, guinea pig, chinchilla or small pet?

There are many ways to feed raspberry leaves to your pet. It can be sprinkled into hay to increase environmental enrichment and stimulate normal foraging behaviour and can form part of a healthy, varied diet.

Raspberry leaves can be added to other leaves (such as The Hay Experts Blackcurrant, Plantain or Dandelioin) or added to a forage blend with flowers to. This can be then added to hay, to pellets or fed on its' own.

Raspberry Leaves can also be added to toys (such as a cardboard tube) to increase fun and activity.

My rabbit, guinea pig or small animal has not had this before. Is it safe to feed?

It is unlikely this could cause any issues, but as every animal is different, we advise introducing any new food with care.

If your pet has not had this before, it is sensible to introduce it slowly and feed in very small amounts initially (as with any new food) to ensure your pet does not have any particular sensitivities to this.

If you notice any adverse change to digestion, droppings, or unusual behaviour, stop feeding and review. Our Animal Medicines Advisor is on hand to offer feeding advice, and your vet should be consulted if there are any health concerns.

Special care should always be taken when feeding pregnant or lactating females, the very young, or those in poor health.

Always ensure fresh hay and water are always available.

Excellent quality, hard to find elsewhere.

Delighted to find raspberry leaves for my bunny, as he loves the real thing. An excellent selection of products and I hope to introduce him to some of the other leaves, such as black currant.

Fresh, clean product. My bunny's favourite at the moment

Both my chinchilla and bunny absolutely love this treat. My bunny is quite a fussy eater but this treat always entices him to eat, and forage in his hay. My chinchilla loves it too. At this rate they'll be going through a pack a month!
