Aronia Berries, also known as black chokeberries, are one of those 'superfoods' that are rich in many nutrients and help support numerous functions - including liver, kidney are excellent at helping to support normal resistance to disease whilst also containing a high level of antioxidants.
Aronia berries are one of the richest sources of plant antioxidants to help support heart health and have anti-inflammatory and immune properties. It is thought the berries may have antiviral effects too. They are high in fibre, vitamin C, manganese, and also provide vitamin K, folate, iron, and vitamins A and E amongst other nutrients.
Aronia berries are particularly high in anthocyanins, reducing inflammation, protecting against heart disease, and improving brain health. They are also reputed to help support intestinal microbiota, promoting healthy digestion and intestinal health.
And whilst Aronia Berries are so full of all things good, they are just perfect for feeding as part of a natural diet, as a treat, or as extra tastiness to hay for added foraging fun! Plus they can also be used in a treat ball or in toys to add environmental enrichment...and a bit of a challenge!
